It’s time to build the
Kamloops Cancer Centre at Royal Inland Hospital, because
Cancer Won’t Wait.

Valerie R.’s Story

In the early 2000’s, Valerie R. volunteered to drive a van that took people needing radiation treatment from Kamloops to Kelowna.

Over two decades later, people are still having to commute to receive treatment for cancer.

The Thompson Regional Hospital District’s Cancer Won’t Wait campaign is focused on the urgent need for the Kamloops Cancer Centre at Royal Inland Hospital.

This initiative brings together communities from across the region to demonstrate to the B.C. Government that expanding local cancer services is a priority for people in our region.

We know the impact that local cancer treatment can have on both quality of life and treatment outcomes, and the difference this centre will make in the lives of our friends and family.

The time to build the Kamloops Cancer Centre is now because Cancer Won’t Wait.

Dr. Paul M.’s Story

As a family physician who works in Kamloops and our surrounding communities, I am aware of how difficult it can be for patients with cancer to access radiotherapy.

In 2023, I experienced this challenge first-hand.
